The Simulation Technician will have the responsibility of assisting in the installation, maintenance, and general operation of sophisticated high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, task trainers, audio-visual equipment, and computers used in the training of healthcare professionals. This role will provide exceptional customer service, including the ability to express technical information effectively to faculty, students, and non-technical persons. Knowledge and experience with clinical training equipment and simulation lab operations are essential for success in this role.

1. Maintains current knowledge of simulation/lab equipment and operation manuals.
2. Programs simulator software to model simulator's physiological response to instructor specifications.
3. Operates patient simulators and cameras for the duration of simulations.
4. Operates and maintains audio-visual and debriefing systems.
5. Sets up and takes down simulation laboratory equipment.
5.1. May involve rapid turnover of simulation lab set up.
6. Maintains and repairs all simulation equipment, including:
- Patient simulators, computers, monitors, and a variety of medical equipment.
- Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and contacts Sim Team members as needed.
7. Collaborates with supervisor to organize, maintain, and restock skills lab and simulation laboratory supplies.
8. Provides technical support for task trainers and multimedia peripherals including:
- Beds/examination tables, headwalls, patient monitors, and other health care equipment.
- Vital sign monitors.
- Provides theatrical production (costuming and moulage) for simulation scenarios as requested.
- Mixes fake body fluids and creates wounds.
9. Provides technical assistance, support, and training to faculty, instructors, and staff in the use of simulation equipment.
10. Provides recommendations on equipment, supplies, and materials.
11. Collects data for ongoing research, grant, or other requested requirements.
12. Sets up and maintains surgical/procedural simulators.
13. Sets up and maintains computer-based training programs.
14. Maintains simulation activities and learner confidentiality.
15. Releases case material.
16. Updates simulation calendars.
17. Manages Envoy guest management systems.
18. Manages campus group event management.
19. Manages DocuSign forms.
20. Performs other job-related duties as required.
