The Registrar is the University’s senior academic records officer, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Office of the Registrar within the Division of Student Affairs. The position works collaboratively and closely with the other offices within the Division of Student Affairs and with our academic programs. This role provides strategic leadership in the development and maintenance of systems that ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of student academic records. The Registrar manages technology platforms related to academic data and ensures efficient processes that support student registration, academic progress, graduation certification, and policy compliance. The position also ensures that institutional, state, and federal regulations are upheld while delivering high-quality service to students, faculty, and campus partners. The position also collaborates and meets regularly with other Registrar’s across the Touro University System.

1. Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the Office of the Registrar, including the supervision, hiring, and evaluation of staff.
1.1. Foster a collaborative team environment with clear communication and defined roles.
1.2. Support staff development through training, feedback, and performance management to ensure high-quality service and operational excellence.
2. Oversee the implementation and enforcement of university policies, procedures, and regulations related to academic records and Registrar operations.
2.1. Ensure compliance with FERPA and all applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations.
2.2. Maintain and update official academic records for all students, including transcripts and grade reports.
2.3. Coordinate the building, scheduling, and publication of academic course offerings.
2.4. Manage the student registration process and ensure accuracy and timeliness of enrollment data.
2.5. Certify student enrollment status for internal and external reporting purposes.
2.6. Manage the maintenance and publication of the university’s academic catalog, ensuring accuracy and timely updates to reflect approved curricular and policy changes.
3. Manage student academic progress and institutional compliance activities.
3.1. Oversee graduation audits and determine student eligibility for degree conferral.
3.2. Review and process changes to student academic status, including leave of absence, academic suspension, petition to return, transfer, and related requests.
3.3. Certify student eligibility for local, state, and national licensure and certification examinations.
3.4. Manage student enrollment certifications and degree verifications for the National Student Clearinghouse, verifying and reporting student status for institutional and regulatory purposes.
3.5. Support institutional accreditation and program licensing reviews by preparing and providing required academic data and documentation.
3.6. Respond to internal and external inquiries related to academic records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policy.
4. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and support data-informed decision-making.
4.1. Serve as a liaison to the Nevada State Commission on Post-Secondary Education
4.2. Provide oversight of Veterans Affairs operations and serve as the institution’s School Certifying Official for VA education benefits.
4.3. Prepare and submit reports to support institutional research efforts, internal departments, and compliance with accrediting bodies and federal, state, and local agencies.
4.4. Monitor and ensure compliance with FERPA and other data privacy laws and regulations.
4.5. Coordinate with legal, accreditation, and compliance offices to support audits and ensure record-keeping standards are met.
4.6. Maintain current knowledge of national trends and regulatory changes affecting registrar operations and student records.
5. Ensure Office of the Registrar operations are responsive to institutional priorities and aligned with university-wide collaboration.
5.1. Ensure that the services and operations align with and support the broader needs of the university, including students, faculty, and administrative stakeholders.
5.2. Collaborate effectively with departments within the Division of Student Affairs, as well as across Touro University Nevada and the broader Touro University System.
5.3. Provide leadership in developing and implementing registrar policies, procedures, and best practices that enhance operational efficiency.
5.4. Advise academic leadership on issues related to curriculum management, registration, academic standing, and degree completion.
5.5. Foster a culture of service, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Office of the Registrar.
5.6. Provide leadership and actively participate in student events such as, but not limited to, Orientation, White Coat Ceremony, Commencement, Day of Service, Match Day,
6. Compile a variety of reports for institutional research, campus departments, as well as accrediting, federal, state, and local agencies.
6.1. Participate in university committee work and division committee work.
