Faculty - Curriculum Design and Assessment

Primary Responsibilities include curriculum design and development, teaching, assisting course directors, program assessment, and student remediation. The principal faculty will teach and mentor students throughout the didactic and clinical curriculum. Responsibilities also include scholarly activity, administrative duties, advising students, serving on school, university, state, regional, and national committees. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Director of Clinical Education, Director of Academic Education.  This position has the ability to be a fully remote/hybrid position.

• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum that conforms to the program’s mission, goals, accreditation standards and objectives.
  • Collaborate in the development and review of the mission, goals, and objectives of the program to ensure they meet or exceed all accreditation standards.
  • Design and develop short and long range strategic plans.
  • Prepare and assist with the development of goals and learning objectives for each course of study, to include the didactic and clinical phases to ensure they meet or exceed accreditation standards.
  • Assist program leadership in curriculum design, development, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of didactic and clinical phases of the program.
  • Develop a new curriculum map.
  • Create new syllabi for courses that meets accreditation standards.
  • Update course learning objectives and outcomes to ensure they meet accreditation standards.
  • Oversee program assessment and provide timely communication to Program Director and Dean when you identify issues where accreditation standards are not being met.
  • Assist in creating remedial instruction.
  • Ensure that clinical and didactic remediation is available.
  • Determine and assign remediation as appropriate.

• Participate in teaching assignments.
• • Provide counsel and advisement to students.
  • Participate as a student success coach.
  • Cooperate in faculty directed activities in order that the program will be an integral part of the university system.
  • Attend Faculty Senate meetings.
  • Participate as a student success coach.

• Participate in all aspects of the self-study process and assist in ARC-PA paperwork for self-study and accreditation.

• Attend the Promotion and Advancement Committee.

• Contribute to the Admissions Committee.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing the admissions process.
  • Assist in the selection of applicants for admission.

• Actively engages in the advancement of the University.
  • Build collaborative partnership opportunities across and among various entities, participating in networking opportunities, [internal and external partners, other colleges and universities, hospitals, local organizations, societies, etc.] promoting relationships with the University.
  • Promotes and represents the University at local, state, and national events (attending and participating in conferences, serving as a speaker/presenter, networking with colleagues to foster program development, participating in various community opportunities, etc.).
  • Serves on various committees and teams within the University as assigned (attending meetings, contributing to discussions, sharing/exchanging information, and leading constituents toward goal attainment) to include advising and mentoring (Students, clubs, campus organizations)
  • Contributes to University’s compliance with and in the development of required documentation as related to accreditation of all programs to which departmental content is contributed. (faculty adequacy model, gathering data, self-assessment, peer review, providing input/feedback, etc.) aiding in the attainment of academic compliance.
  • Is knowledgeable of and remains in compliance with all institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the Faculty and Administrative Handbooks for Touro University Nevada.

• Contributes to team effort by performing other duties and participating in other committees as needed/assigned

Education:

Master’s degree or higher from a US accredited college or university (preferred) or Masters prepared PA-C with current PA national certification and eligibility for licensure in NV

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of PA education experience, experience with ARC-PA paperwork and accreditation, experience in assessment
