Overview

The Physician Assistant Studies Adjunct Faculty, under the supervision of the Program Director, as well as the Academic Coordinator, is responsible for evaluation of the program's academic and clinical components. Working in close association with the Academic and Clinical Faculty, the Physician Assistant Studies Adjunct Faculty member is paid per course or lecture assigned to you. This is a non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide student instruction in assigned courses
  2. Develop and evaluate student performance in both the didactic and clinical phase
  3. Some teaching assignments may exist in a courses where the faculty member is not a primary instructor (e.g. labs, OSCEs, clinical year curriculum)
  4. Participate in all aspects of the self-study process.
  5. Counsel and advise students.
  6. Participate in faculty directed activities integral to the university system.
  7. May participate in community outreach.

Qualifications

 Education:   

  • Masters prepared PA-C or MD/DO
  • Current PA national certification and eligibility for licensure in NV
  • Current MD/DO board certification and eligibility for licensure in NV

Experience:  

  • Three years of clinical experience and previous education experience preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar and formal speech
  • Established leadership and supervisory skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, resilient, and uplifting demeanor
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Able to exercise sound judgment
