Overview

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) participates as an integral member of the team in terms of evaluation, treatment planning, service implementation, and supervision of Autism Behavior Interventionists/Registered Behavior Technicians.

Responsibilities

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst is responsible for conducting initial Applied Behavior Analysis evaluations, developing, updating, and maintaining treatment plans implemented by Autism Behavior Interventionists/Registered Behavior Technicians, supervision of Autism Behavior Interventionists/Registered Behavior Technicians, providing direct one-on-one and small group therapy, and contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic evaluations and multidisciplinary meetings.

  • Utilize accepted screening and assessment instruments to appraise children’s developmental status and performance in various areas of behavior, including but not limited to communication, socialization, adaptive functioning, and maladaptive behaviors
  • Develop, update, and maintain treatment plans based upon evaluation results
  • Provide direct one-on-one and small group therapy
  • Supervise Autism Behavior Interventionists/Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to meet national requirements for RBTs for both acquiring and maintaining certification
  • Co-facilitate groups and/or conduct individual sessions in the areas of social skills and parent training as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and protect patient privacy by ensuring that Protected Health Information is secured
  • Complete forms for insurance billing, documentation, and charting in a timely manner to assist in billing and collection for services rendered
  • Sanitize toys and equipment
  • Ensure adults and children follow Center policies and procedures

Qualifications

    

Education

  • Minimum a Master's degree in behavior analysis or other natural science, education, human services, engineering, medicine or a field related to behavior analysis and approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Currently licensed in good standing in Nevada

Experience:

  • Two years’ experience in pediatric and developmental disabilities; Five years preferred

Skills & Abilities:       

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Knowledge and understanding of ethical principles and guidelines
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA Privacy Rules and Regulations
