Overview

Grow and maintain responsive infrastructure that enables and supports funded research at Touro University Nevada by managing an Office of Sponsored Programs. Work with Principal Investigators to provide an important resource for pre-proposal decision-making, regulatory management, Pre-Award and Post-Award services, and effective and efficient research administration through close-out. This can be a hybrid or fully virtual position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with aspiring PIs to review and interpret funding announcements.
  • Oversee and assist with preparation of sponsored project proposals to ensure integration of budget sections with technical proposals. Ensure budgets meet all sponsor guidelines, University policies and procedures, and incorporate allowable indirect costs and fringe benefits as appropriate.
  • Manage time schedule for preparation and submission of proposals.
  • Oversee all communication and coordination with subcontractors, public, private, and government agencies, and other individuals or groups to exchange information, enlist collaboration, prepare proposals and submit and implement sponsored projects and awarded proposals.
  • Coordinate award set-up with the PI and administration.
  • Optimize the post award administration of the school’s sponsored projects, and act as the point of contact for the Offices of Finance and Accounting and the Human Resources department to ensure timely and efficient processing of requests. 
  • Work on annual renewals of awards (progress reports, no-cost extensions, etc.). Review scope of work for initial and annual renewal of proposals and determine impact on relevant budgets. Responsible for timeline tracking, coordination, and submission of all required reports to ensure compliance with funding agency requirements and ensure that deliverables and milestones are met.
  • Oversee post-award functions and facilitate the management of awarded projects including project closeouts, memoranda and correspondence designed to document as well as enhance and expand research activities and programs.
  • Ensure all reports and certificates are processed for grant close-outs; establish and maintain grant proposal files and update appropriate databases.
  • Identify issues, develop procedures, and streamline activities that further benefit the research enterprise at Touro Nevada.
  • Assist Research Department in preparing budgets and supporting routine research administration activities.
  • Enhance professional knowledge and skills by attending seminars/workshops and other internal and external trainings and reviewing published literature.
  • Attend on-campus meetings and activities as possible and needed to facilitate strong communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA), or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) credential strongly preferred

 

Experience:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years of direct experience working on Pre-Award or Post-Award services in a higher education institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of direct experience working on Pre-Award or Post-Award services in a higher education institution
  • Experience managing United States federal grants
  • Experience working on technology transfer activities
